Update
Sorry for the lack of posts. I have no excuse. I’ve been furloughed again and have had the time, just not the motivation. I have some stuff ready to put up so I’m hoping I’ll actually get the energy to do it soon.
Hope everyone is well and doing okay in this crazy, scary world of ours
Poem idea
20:131
A lake of ice separating
everything, anything.
Chip at the thick, frozen
water to form cracks, signs,
evidence you are trying.
Trapped beneath, unable to
breathe, chip, bang, struggle
to the surface…
Or, is it, in fact, you’re already
above, and chipping to
get below?
Pause, hesitate, unable to
decide. Identify where you are,
and what you need.
Perhaps this lake of ice
is the best solution.
Poem ideas

Releasing the kindness
encased within,
touching skin like a snowflake
and melting into hope.
20:129
Clinging to some jumbled
phrases, shaping them
into meaning.
Is this helping? Or
highlighting something
that should have
stayed buried, and
stomped beneath the dirt.
20:130
Pressure,
you can’t fail
or you’ll be weeded out,
forgotten,
gone.

The world is ending,
and people still won’t
help themselves.
They are too set in their ways.
They will complain,
resist, until they
choke and sink forever.

Releasing the kindness
encased within,
touching skin like a snowflake
and melting into hope.
Jacob Polley
Jacob Polley talks about working with a musician to prepare his poems for radio.
He also mentions theatrical productions of poetic works, which I want to research further in the future.

Poem idea
20:125
Would you go back
and change it, if you could,
that moment you
recall with embarrassment?
Would it change how you feel?
Would it change the core of you?
Who would you be?
Are you even you anymore,
without the mistakes and
lessons that shaped you.
No, I wouldn’t change it.
Poem ideas

Nature creates
its smoke signals,
desperate for a
responding call.
20:124
Murdered flesh
cooked to create my
amusement on a
fork, a thoughtless
smile gazing at
your corpse.
Sabrina Mahfouz

Poem idea

Boots in bed,
armoured feet
ready to defend
their territory,
their sanity.
Kick out at
anything,
everything.
Friendly or an enemy?
Who knows,
who cares,
they’ve never
come close
enough
to know.
